More Information on the CCA
Members of the Quest Chinese Dance exude confidence. Their grace and beauty is most evident on stage; it is an exquisite feast for the eyes. Their high standards were affirmed when the CCA garnered a Gold Award in the 3rd International Youth Dance Competitive at Kreta Ayer Theatre in Jan 2013. We achieved Gold at SYF 2011 and Accomplishment at SYF 2013.
Students feel the CCA has improved various aspects of themselves. The CCA offers opportunity for students to build on leadership, team work, flexibility, stamina and time management. It also offers opportunities to widen their circles of friendship through their mutual love for dance.
Experienced dance instructors are especially hired from professional dance schools from China to teach dance techniques. As a result, students learn poise and acquire a heightened sense of aesthetics in dance movements. Opportunities are created for our dancers to attend external performances by professional dance troupes who visit Singapore yearly. In this way, students learn to appreciate their art form and are exposed to the standards and expectations of professional dancers.
Active community involvement is always the priority in our CCA. Our dancers grace external events as part of their community involvement programme. These participations hone the confidence of our dancers, making them polished performers that are used to large audiences. They also spread goodwill through dance. In 2014, the year kicked off with a series of Lunar New Year performances in school, at Dawson Place and Fajar Shopping Centre. This was followed by a community contribution to the Singapore Lions Club at SAFRA Mount Faber in April 2014.
We are constantly looking for students who:
- Are disciplined, with a good attitude
- Has knowledge of basic dance techniques.
- Interested in developing flexibility and refinement in body and mind.
