More Information on the CCA

2014 started off with a bang for Quest Choir! As the choir was in the midst of changing instructors, they were on their own at the start of the year. Yet with spirits ablaze, the choir, armed with their creativity, passion and a ukulele, composed their own A Capella performance consisting of a mix of a variety of pop songs to showcase to potential new secondary one star singers for QTSS CCA Open House. Their performance was a hit and the choir welcomed over a dozen new members warmly.

In February 2014, the choir welcomed Mr Wong Yang Kai, our new instructor, on board. The choir’s hard work paid off when they put up a spectacular performance at their first concert of the year – Singspiration, A Combine Choir’s Concert 2014 – on the 6th of April along with five other secondary school choirs at the Goodman Arts Centre. They performed two tunes: Sing a Song of Sixpence and Ode to the Moon. The choir also choreographed and performed their own version of the wildly popular tune, ‘Let It Go’, from Disney’s latest hit movie, ‘Frozen’.

The choir also represented the school at SYF Goes to the Libraries 2014 where they performed the same song, ‘Let It Go’ in front of heart-lander families in a cozy room at Ang Mo Kio library. Both children and adults had a ball singing along to the famous tune with the choir in a Karaoke setting. In addition, the choir joined in the celebration and belted out the inspirational tune, ‘You Raise Me Up’, made popular by Josh Gorban at QTSS Annual Speech & Prize Giving Day 2014 before they joined voices and hands with Malay Dance and the Drama Club for a heartwarming finale, singing ‘One Singapore’ by Singapore’s very own Stephanie Sun.

2014 has been a meaningful and fruitful year. The choir has shown great leadership, commitment and perseverance in the quest for achieving their best in everything that they do. More importantly, the members have demonstrated great warmth and friendship to one another, making choir a happy family. Our quest continues as we work towards great accomplishment for SYF 2015.
